  1. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your blog! When I get your transformations in my email box, I go to it first because the way you describe how you paint and distress helps me so much! After about 20 years of NOT painting furniture, Im back into it again. I have yet to sell a piece, but all in due time.
Thank you so much for describing what kinds of paints you use and HOW to use them. Im afraid of dark wax, so havent tried any yet. Well....I cant afford it..at least not the Annie Sloan products.
Anyway, I wanted you to know that I appreciate what you do and how much it has helped me.

  2. Susan,

Hi, First off i love your site, you make so many pretty things! my question for you is i just started doing chalk paint , i made my own with the plaster of paris ( your receipe). My question is the clear wax that you first put on, do you have to use annie sloans or can i use something else like miniwax paste finishing wax? and then use the dark to antique. or do you know of any brands lees expensive than hers. any help would be appreciated! thank you, janette

  3. Hi Susan! I'm so enjoying learning about furniture painting from you. I've had pretty good success with regular latex paint but I want to learn to make chalk paint. I tried today for the first time. Can you say disaster? I followed your directions, even using the same type of jar! I tried with two paints. The first was a sample, so I wasn't surprised when it seized up hard as a brick. The second was a good, well, WalMart good, latex paint and it did the same thing. I added a tiny bit of water and it loosened up a little, but was still lumpy and a chalky (in a bad way!). I'm not going to give up, but I wondered if there's something I'm missing? Thank you! Cindy
