It really is amazing what a little paint can do. This desk looked like it had been completely neglected for years.
But two coats of black on the top and two coats of white on the body (both in homemade chalk paint), lightly distressed, waxed with Minwax Finishing Paste and look at what it became!
Oil rubbed bronze spray paint for the pulls and glass knob for the center drawer completes the makeover.
I just love painted (and painting) furniture!

ReplyDeleteI just love YOUR painted furniture! Love that black top.
ReplyDeleteNicely done! I have a chest of drawers in a finish like your before picture--I think white will look very nice on my piece and am now inspired to get on with my painting! Thanks so much for your posting.

This is my favorite makeover of yours yet! I need to get me some of that oil rubbed bronze spray paint! Did you strip the top? In the picture it looks like the black has some of the wood grain look. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThe desk looks fantastic. It helps me visualize what the desk I inherited from my Grandma could look like when I get around to painting it. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteYou did such a wonderful job! Painted, it has a whole new life!! I had an old dresser that was fab in my living room. It's natural shabby, worn look and when we moved we offered it to anyone...my new daughter in law took it to the next level and painted it white and it really looks great in her newly redecorated dining room.
ReplyDeleteGreat desk, Susan! It looks revitalized now with its new paint!
